CARR Receives AARP Community Challenge Grant

CARR announced 13 September 2017 that it has received an AARP Community Challenge Grant.  CARR is only one of 4 AARP Community Challenge Grant recipients in California.  CARR has been funded to create an innovative board game based on the "8 Domains of Liveability" framework used by the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities; the game is designed to engage older adults in the process of making San Diego a more age-friendly city.  Our short YouTube video introduces this unique and original game.

The game will be unveiled and introduced to San Diegans in October at the UT Aging Expo, where CARR will be an exhibitor.  The UT Aging Expo will be held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Saturday 7 October 2017.  The game will also be used at two events in November - the San Marcos Health Expo and the County of San Diego's Live Well Advance.  The game will be launched under CARR's copyright.

This is the second significant grant the organization has received in 2017.  Earlier this year CARR received a San Diego Foundation grant to investigate availability and affordability of assisted living services in the region.
